The only slowish track on the CD, Moonlight Serenade is taken at exactly the ‘right’ tempo, faithful to what dancers of 1939 (and 2015) liked. The B# sax section displays its cohesion and pure excellence in this richly romantic treatment of a Glenn Miller hit that typifies the sweetest sounds of the era.
